Worthing is a town on the south coast of England. It is situated in Sussex between the South Downs and the English Channel. The town takes its name from the seaweed deposits that are swept onto the beach by the summer tides. Worthing is a seaside summer resort. Like many coastal towns it has a Pier along the seafront where much of the amusement attractions are located. The Pier has been restored to its former glory having survived fire and bombing. The town has a history as a fishing village dating back to the Saxons and today fishermen still sell fresh fish from the Pier.
