The Theatre Royal has major productions like Oscar Wilde, or Shakespeare
or even Ben Elton. Local drama is played at the New Venture Theatre
or the Marlborough Theatre as well as the Little Theatre or the
Sussex Arts club. There is big demand for theatre in Brighton and
one could see a different performance every night if one wished.
Prices range from less than a fiver to higher prices but much cheaper
than London prices.
The Booth Museum of Natural History and the Fishing Museum as
well as the British Engineerium which looks at machinery down through
the years. All are free of charge.
Brighton has attracted many artists down through the years and
is a popular town with the new multi media digital Arts. The Light
house Company which are based in the new Brighton Media Centre display
lots of digital art exhibitions which are usually on display at
the Fabrica Gallery, which is famous for its very creative shows
a beautiful interior and is perfect for contemporary works. Then
there is the George Street Gallery as well as Gallery 73 which have
artists in their workshops.
Hove Museum and Brighton’s Museum and Art Gallery house have
already hosted many established works like Bruegel and Goya and
Brighton was rated as the best exhibition outside London back in
2000. So there is plenty more opportunities for Brighton to regain
its status.
