If one is thirsty why not try the Gemini Beach Bar or the Fortune
of War which are on the sea front. If hungry get yourself into Alfresco,
or the Honeyclub or down at the Boardwalk.
If its culture you want to drink, pay a visit to the Fishing Museum,
or even see the sea front Artists Quarter which has open galleries
and shops and also marvel at the Museum of Penny Slot Machines which
is located under Brighton Pier. But make sure that while you are
kept busy, relax and take things in your stride and at the same time
inhale the great sea air.
On the left of the promenade is the way to Hove Lagoon, while walking
towards the right of the promenade will bring you to different sights
like the electric powered Volk’s Railway and also the Concorde
2 venue as well as the naturist beach. If you keep walking you will
arrive at Brighton Marina and you can continue walking on a beautiful
undercliff walk along the beach as far away as Saltdean.
If all this walking is too much and you feel like doing something
that involves less effort, then why not go shopping or even better
- just go for a drink.
Shopping in Brighton is regarded as an olympic sport in the area.
The starters blocks are where the Brighton Clock tower is and one
can take a left down the Western Road where all the major chains
are located. Shops such as HMV, Oddbins, Marks and Spencers, the
Gap, etc can be found here. This area also includes Churchill Square
which is a top class shopping centre which include some retail chains
like Habitat, Virgin Mega store and Borders books, etc.
Beside Churchill Square is the Western Front which is a famous Bar
in Brighton. Also worth a look in is the Pull and Pump bar on the
Western Road. For fine French restaurants check out La Fourchette
or take a stroll down Preston Street for a Mexican restaurant called
Dig in the Ribs as well as many other posh and trendy restaurants
in the area.
